Welcome
to my website and thank you for taking the time to learn a little more
about me. Working closely with animals has always been a big part of my
life and for over 20 years my family has been strongly committed to our
love of dogs. My mother's involvement in breeding and showing Irish
Setters has allowed me the opportunity to discover my passion for
showing at an early age. When I turned 14 my mom bought me my first
Irish Setter, beginning the foundation to her Midnightblue line. What a
thrill! Showing her, along with all the time and dedication needed to
overcome the obstacles to obtaining championship titles was something I
knew I was ready to begin working towards.
I trained hard for many years under the guidance of
Andre Desrosier, a well known professional handler in Quebec. I began
with puppy classes and progressed with private handling lessons. I
highly value the bond that is developed from these lessons, enabling me
to establish a relationship with a dog both in and out of the show
ring. A strong commitment to each individual dog and their owners,
nurtures and establishes a deep connection through trust and
communication. I have extensive experience in handling various breeds
from toy to giant, in all 7 Groups in both CKC, AKC and Specialty Shows. I am currently the Junior Handling Chairperson for the Irish Setter Club of Canada.
I firmly believe in exercising and conditioning a dog
for top performance in the ring. All of my dogs are given individual
one-on-one time with me and are walked daily. The dogs are housed with
me in a safe, clean, and positive environment. I personally over-see
each and every aspect of their training, conditioning and safety to
ensure the needs of my dogs are met, resulting in a solid performance
in the ring. The closeness I maintain with each individual dog
strengthens the connection I have built with them and is continually
rewarded with excellent results.
I'm grateful for the love and support of my team, which includes my mother Joanne and my sister Brandy. Not only are they present at ring side, but are invaluable in helping with grooming and the conditioning of the dogs.
I hope that I have given you a
bit of insight into who I am and how I run things. Please feel free to
contact me for more information on upcoming shows, dates and details. I
look forward to hearing from you!
Thanks again for entrusting me with your special friend,
